Morticide was created by Josh Dominus in Clifton Park, New York in early 2019. Originally a one man project, Morticide’s debut album, "One With The Darkness", came out March 13th 2020. The original version, which has since been removed from the internet, contained programmed instruments. The album was a combination of death/thrash metal with some notes of groove metal and hardcore as well as metalcore/deathcore. A re-recorded version was released on May 20th, 2022 with real guitars and bass. In summer of 2023, Josh Dominus picked up guitarist Shane Whalen, whose cousin Isaac Nokes shortly thereafter joined as the drummer. With Josh Dominus now the vocalist/bassist, Morticide had become a full band. Their second album, "Death Cannot Hold Those With Purpose...", was released on September 13th, 2024, and featured a much darker and heavier sound, combining traditional death metal, black metal, deathcore and brutal death metal. They have opened for touring bands such as Festerdecay, Mammoth Grinder, Internal Bleeding, and Yotuma. Their self-titled 3rd album will be released in late 2026.
